As someone who has always been extremely nervous about visiting the dentist and generally avoided dental appointments wherever possible, finding the right dental practice was very important to me. Around a year ago, I had no choice but to seek dental care, and after reading so many positive reviews, I decided to give this practice a try. I can honestly say I have not been disappointed.

The entire team is outstanding. The dental professionals are exceptionally knowledgeable, competent and professional, demonstrating excellent clinical standards alongside genuine kindness, patience and empathy. They take the time to listen, explain procedures clearly and ensure you feel comfortable, reassured and well cared for throughout your treatment. Their compassionate, patient-centred approach makes a real difference, particularly for those who experience dental anxiety.

The reception staff are equally wonderful, welcoming, caring and approachable, creating a positive first impression from the moment you walk through the door.

It is clear that this practice places great importance on patient wellbeing, clear communication and high-quality dental care. Their combination of clinical expertise, professionalism and genuine compassion is truly commendable.

I would highly recommend this dental practice to anyone, especially nervous or anxious patients who may have struggled to access dental care in the past. The staff are friendly  and efficient helping patients to feel relaxed and confident in their ability .
Once nervous about  visiting the hygienist  today's appointment has changed my views  I won't worry anymore.

I've been avoiding the dentist for years (following a difficult appointment before we moved to Hampshire). A friend who is a long-time patient at Southside Dental suggested I try them. I did. The staff are lovely and explain everything very clearly. My appointment went smoothly, and I'm confident I can trust them with my dental care.

I’m always quite nervous when I have to visit the dentist. The team here are friendly and very welcoming. I see Mimoza and she is always so gentle and helpful. I saw Dr Blerina for my Clear aligners treatment. She and Holly made me feel very comfortable. Today they placed my attachments and gave me the aligners. I had an EMS hygienist appointment with Becky. Along with her assistant they both made me feel at ease and welcome. Becky talked me through the procedure explaining how it differs from a typical hygiene appointment. The new EMS procedure is so comfortable, no harsh painful scraping. I was surprised how brilliant my tooth looked when it was over. I didn’t think they could look better than usual when it was such a gentle experience. Another very pleasant six monthly visit to Southside Dental Practice. During the checkup one of my fillings was identified as requiring a repair to a small chip. They were able to book me in for an appointment within the hour and now all sorted. Great service from a very nice team.

Had my Invisalign journey with Mimi in August, everything was painless and I am extremely happy with my results!  I had an anterior open bite, meaning I couldn’t bite with my front teeth, now I can and I haven’t stopped looking at my new teeth transformation!

I attended for a hygienist appt this morning, Donna on reception greeted me, she was super helpful and welcoming. I was booked in with Becky who gave me the choice between standard scaler polish vs EMS, I chose EMS, which i'm glad I did.

Becky was very friendly and ensured I was happy/comfortable throughout the clean. She also gave me some pointers to keep my teeth in check.

A big thank you to Mimoza and the team for taking care of me for my Smile Aligner journey! 18 weeks and here we are, I can confidently smile brightly again with graduation taking place this summer. I have recommended the rest of my family and colleagues to go here since the staff are welcoming, professional and overall brilliant in what we want from a Dental Practice. I could reach them and schedule with ease. Dad came with me on my teeth straightened reveal day and he was also very proud and happy about the results, he is now registered with this dental practise too where a fair quote of treatment plans to go with. Even after my Smile journey, I will be staying with this private practice with great trust in them to continue looking after my teeth. I have had a crippling fear of the dentist for years, but Dr Mimi and her assistant (I’m really sorry, I didn’t catch her name!) are absolutely fantastic. Not only do they ease my anxiety, but they are attentive and explain exactly what they are doing.

I have been have been receiving dental treatment with Mimi the last few months. I am extremely insecure about my 2 front teeth because of discolouration due to an accident. I am extremely happy with the service I received from Mimi and her co workers. I will now be smiling in photos from now on all because of Mimi.

Pleased to report a very good experience yesterday when bringing our 5 year-old boy for his six-monthly check-up.  The dentist and her assistant were kind and patient, and engaged with our son.  We even have a 'a family photo' thanks to her. Great dental practice! Have a dentist appointment and hygienist appointment in one, both so efficient and quick to see me :-) Mimoza is great, and I believe my hygienist is Fatima who’s very calming and fab.

Fantastic! The amazing team here from reception, hygienist, dentist to assistants have been amazing. Friendly and put me at ease along with giving an amazing service, with comments on the amazing difference in my teeth. My mouth not only looks better but feels better. After my first visit to Southside Dental Practice I must say I was blown away by how friendly and professional all the staff are. They really care! I have used another practice in Portsmouth for over 20 years, but after the service I have received today I’m so glad I have moved to Southside.
